We are proud to announce the launch of the ACT Sustainable Household Scheme – we've partnered with the ACT Government to offer all ACT residents access to 0% interest loans between $2,000 to $15,000 on a range of clean energy products. Applications are currently live for eligible ACT residents.
While the 0% interest loan may look similar to our Interest-free plan, as the exclusive finance partner, we have worked closely with the ACT Government to develop an exclusive product for ACT residents where customer fees are $0, excluding late payment fees. As with all other Brighte products, ACT residents have access to our network of trusted tradies – we help connect residents to accredited installers to get personalised quotes for the job. We outline all the details over on the ACT Sustainable Household Scheme page.
Products included in the ACT Sustainable Household Scheme
ACT residents will now be able to access a range of products in addition to solar panels and battery including:
- Energy generation, storage and EV charging:
- Household rooftop solar PV panel systems
- Household solar battery storage systems
- Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure
- Replacement of gas or inefficient electric appliance
- Electric heating & cooling systems – reverse cycle
- Hot Water Heat Pumps (HWHP)
- Efficient electric stove tops
The ACT community has already shown lots of interest
Earlier this year we road-tested the Scheme with a pilot program, and despite the challenges of lockdowns we successfully processed nearly 300 finance applications. This just goes to show how strong the interest within the community is for solar energy home upgrades. We are so excited to support the opening up of the Scheme for the ACT.
As our founder and CEO Katherine McConnell notes, “we know that there’s been tremendous interest in the scheme and we’re excited to open up applications to the whole Territory,” she said. “We want to spread the benefits of clean energy - like lower bills, a cleaner environment and better lifestyles - throughout the ACT and zero interest finance is a great zero-interest opportunity to bring these investments forward.”
“It’s also been a challenging time for the solar industry during lockdown so this will be a welcome shot in the arm for the local economy and job creation.”
