Lodging a complaint about your payment plan with AFCA

We are a member of an external dispute resolution scheme and in the unlikely event that we cannot resolve your request for hardship assistance, you can lodge a complaint with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). AFCA is a new external dispute resolution scheme that replaces the Credit & Investments Ombudsman (CIO). Buy Now Pay Later Code of Practice

Brighte is also a member of the Buy Now Pay Later Code of Practice. This means that if the product we have provided you is our 0% Interest Payment Plan, in addition to contacting us or AFCA, you can report an alleged breach of this Code to the Code Compliance Committee (CCC). The CCC is an independent committee that has been established to monitor our compliance with this Code (as outlined in the Terms of Reference for the CCC).

If your job is above the $15,000 cap you can certainly choose to apply for additional funding with Brighte. Simply request this when discussing your payment options with your chosen Brighte vendor.

Please note, this will be treated as a separate loan application, interest charges and fees will apply on funds borrowed above the $15,000 cap and will be subject to our lending criteria and terms & conditions.

Rebate for rooftop solar PV systems

Accepted Answer

You may be eligible to get a rebate of up to $2,500 when installing solar through the Scheme. The rebate is up to 50% of the total cost, capped at $2,500.

Your property must not already have solar installed (solar hot water is permitted).
Your property meets the technical requirements for solar installation based on orientation, roof size and shading, which will be assessed by the solar supplier.
System size must be between 5.5kW and 6.6kW
Solar panels must be linked to a 5kW inverter

How can I register to participate in the Scheme?

If you’re looking to sign up as a energy efficient supplier, you must:

Apply to become Brighte accredited
Installers must ensure all products and installations are compliant with the Australian Standards called up by the Electricity Safety Act 1971 and other relevant Standards. For rooftop solar and household battery storage installers must be a Clean Energy Council (CEC) accredited installer and retailers must be a CEC approved solar retailer.

How can my customer’s register their interest in the Scheme?

If your customer is an ACT homeowner looking to utilise the Scheme for their next energy efficient home upgrade, they will be able to apply directly through you as a vendor accredited under the Scheme once pilot is complete.
