What is a Target Market Determination?
A Target Market Determination (TMD) is a document that describes the type of consumer our products may be most appropriate for – based on their needs, objectives and financial situation (target market).
It also sets out who can distribute our products, conditions on how they can do this, and events or triggers that may indicate we need to review our products and the target market.
Why do we have Target Market Determinations?
From 5 October 2021, Brighte as a product issuer is required to comply with new legal obligations that come into effect - called Design and Distribution Obligations. It requires us to have Target Market Determinations, as well as meet other obligations.
This framework is to make sure we continue to take a customer-centric approach when we design and distribute our products.
Important information for Distributors of Brighte products
Entities or persons engaging in Retail Product Distribution Conduct under the Product Design and Distribution Obligation laws must report information outlined in Target Market Determinations within a specified timeframe to Product Issuers.
