What is the Home Energy Saver loan by Brighte?
A 0% interest, no-fee loan of up to $15,000 over 10 years for eligible NSW households to install approved home energy upgrades — delivered through Brighte’s network of NETCC-accredited installers. Funded by the NSW Government and delivered by Brighte.
When can I get quotes?
Now. You don’t need to wait for the loan to open to start planning. Reach out to a NETCC-Approved Seller in your area through our marketplace, discuss the upgrades you want, and get quotes sorted. When the loan opens, you’ll be ready to move straight to application.
When can I apply for a loan?
Loan applications open mid-June. We’ll notify you once this happens. In the meantime, use this time to get quotes from a NETCC Approved Seller so you’re ready to go.
Can I pay out my loan early?
Yes. You can repay your Home Energy Saver loan by Brighte early at any time with no early repayment fees. You only ever repay what you borrow.
Is this a grant or a loan?
A loan at 0% interest with no fees. You repay only what you borrowed over up to 10 years. It is not a rebate or a grant.
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible if:
- Household taxable income up to $210,000/year
- You own the property or are a landlord
- Existing NSW house or apartment (not newly built on vacant land)
- NSW resident (or NSW landlord who is an Australian citizen/permanent resident)
- Meets Brighte’s credit assessment requirements
- You’re a landlord upgrading for eligible NSW investment properties
- Renters are ineligible
Can I include multiple upgrades?
Yes, bundled into one loan up to $15,000. If total project costs more, you cover the difference.
Can I use my own installer?
Yes — provided they’re Brighte accredited and they hold current NETCC accreditation, which is a mandatory program requirement. If not, Brighte can connect you with a NETCC-accredited installer in your area for the upgrades you want. Just submit an enquiry to get started.
What is NETCC accreditation and why does it matter?
NETCC (New Energy Tech Consumer Code) is a nationally recognised, ACCC-authorised consumer protection standard for solar, battery, EV and other new energy technology installers. NETCC-accredited businesses commit to honest sales practices, clear and comprehensive quotes, quality installations meeting Australian standards, warranty support, and fair complaints resolution. Every installer who participates in the Home Energy Saver loan by Brighte program must hold current NETCC accreditation — so you know the business coming to your home has been independently assessed against those standards.
Does Brighte pay the installer directly?
Yes. Brighte pays your installer directly — and only after you and the installer have confirmed the work is complete.
Home Energy Saver loans are funded by the NSW Government and delivered by Brighte. Loans are subject to assessment. Eligibility criteria and approved upgrade requirements apply.
