Brighte assesses and approves vendors for the program. You apply directly to Brighte and complete the vendor accreditation process - Brighte verifies your credentials and onboards you.
At a minimum you must:
- Be NETCC and/or SAA, depending on product type (hold the relevant industry accreditations)
- Hold the appropriate contractor licence(s) for the work being performed
- Be adequately insured
- Not be the subject of any suspension, investigation, enquiry, or review by any relevant industry body
Your credentials are checked on an ongoing basis
Brighte monitors and reviews vendors and their installers continuously, verifying that your licences, accreditations, and registrations remain current and valid. Semi-annual vendor-related reporting is also required.
If an audit finds that you did not hold a valid licence, accreditation, or registration during a period when loans were originated through you, those loans may be deemed ineligible and your access to the program may be rescinded.
No unsolicited sales
Direct sales including door-to-door sales and cold calling are strictly prohibited under this program. This applies to you and everyone in your installer network. You are responsible for enforcing these standards across your installers.
Marketing must be approved before it goes out
Any marketing or communications must be submitted to Brighte for approval before publishing. See our Marketing Hub for more details.
Consumer protection
Customers are protected under this program against misleading and deceptive conduct, unlawful sales practices, and agreements made outside the official process. If a customer raises concerns about a supplier, they can contact Brighte or NSW Fair Trading.
What happens if something goes wrong
For any issues or complaints follow standard Brighte processes.
NETCC approval is a program requirement
Under this program, NETCC accreditation is required as applicable to the product type and for some products, the equipment must be purchased from a NETCC Approved Seller.
If you're not currently NETCC approved, this is a gap you'll need to close before you can offer the applicable products.
Offering non-NETCC products as a non-NETCC approved vendor
You can still participate in the program without NETCC approval, provided you only offer products that do not require it:
- Hot water heat pump
- Electric heating & cooling systems (reverse cycle)
