What You'll Do
- Lead and develop and train underwriting and settlements teams both onshore and offshore, fostering collaboration, ensuring consistent performance standard and quality outcomes
- Champion digital transformation by improving auto-decisioning rates, reducing manual intervention, and accelerating turnaround times without compromising credit quality or compliance.
- Champion the adoption of digital tool and technologies across credit operations and lead automation projects and workflow optimisation to streamline operational processes
- Conduct regular analysis of operational metrics to identify bottlenecks and enhancement opportunities
- Design and execute improvement initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes
- Contribute to the development and refinement of business processes and credit policies, ensuring policies balance risk management with customer experience and business growth objectives
- Collaborate with risk, product, and technology teams to align operational capabilities with business strategy
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on operational performance and improvement opportunities
What You'll Bring
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- You bring solid experience in credit operations, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- A strong background in unsecured lending products (BNPL, personal loans, credit cards, or similar) and deep understanding of credit assessment processes, underwriting principles, and settlements operations.
- Experience with digital lending platforms and credit decisioning engines.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for consumer lending in Australia (NCCP, Privacy Act, etc.).
- Proven ability to lead and motivate large, diverse teams across multiple locations coupled with strong change management skills with experience driving digital transformation.
