Our hiring process
What happens after I submit my application?
First of all - thanks for applying for a role at Brighte! Our Talent team will review your application and if your experience is a good fit for the role, we will be in touch soon. Please know that you will get a response from us even if this time it’s not a match.
What steps can I expect if I am selected for an interview?
If your experience looks like a match, a member of our Talent team will get in touch to arrange time for an initial phone chat. During this call, they will ask you a bit about your background and what you are looking for in your next company and role. You will also have a chance to ask any questions you have about Brighte. If we think you’re a good fit, the next step is an interview with the hiring manager or a technical test, followed by an interview with members of the department’s management team. A member of our Talent team will be in regular contact throughout the hiring process and will keep you informed of the next steps as you go.
What steps can I expect if I am selected for an interview in Brighte’s tech team?
For junior and mid-level roles in Brighte’s tech team, the first step in the interview process is a screening with one of our Talent Aquisition team members, followed by a tech test, a technical interview with engineers, an interview with an engineering manager and a final interview with Brighte’s Head of Engineering.
For seniors and leads, the first step is a screening with one of our Talent Aquisition team members, followed by a technical whiteboard with engineers, an interview with engineering managers and a final interview with Brighte’s Head of Engineering.
What comes after the interview stage?
A member of our Talent team will be in touch to confirm the outcome of your application at the end of the interview process. If you are successful (congratulations!), we will ask you to provide contact details for two referees. We also require a Police Check and Bankruptcy Check to be completed.
If I’m not successful, can I apply for another role?
Yes! We’re growing fast so please keep an eye on our Careers page for other roles that may be the right fit.
Interviewing at Brighte
How are interviews conducted at Brighte?
As a remote-first business, all of our interviews are conducted online via Zoom. We will send through a calendar invite with a Zoom link to your email address after we’ve confirmed a time with you.
How can I prepare for my interview?
During each stage of the interview process our Talent team will provide guidance on what you should expect and how to prepare. As a start, please ensure you are familiar with the role description and how this relates to your own skills and experience, and take the time to learn about Brighte. Interviewing is a two-way conversation, so think about any questions you want to ask us, too.
Tips for interviewing over Zoom
Our team use Zoom during each interview so make sure you have it downloaded and your camera and microphone are working prior to the interview. We know background noise is sometimes unavoidable, but we recommend finding the quietest space possible to do the interview, with good internet connection and bright lighting. To avoid being distracted, make sure your phone is on silent and remember to turn off any notifications.
Will I need to complete any technical tests?
If you are applying for a role in our tech or product team, you may need to complete a technical test to demonstrate your technical knowledge and skills. Our Talent team will provide you with details on what the test is depending on the role you are applying for.
