Requirements for ceiling insulation

The ceiling insulation materials must comply with the Australian Standards to be installed under this program. These include for example, batts from glasswool, rockwool, polyester or treated wool, and in some circumstances, non-cellulose loose fill products.

Insulation materials that must not be used include foil laminated products, loose-fill cellulose products and any products that do not comply with Australian Standards.

In addition to this, the final product R-value must be R5 or higher.
