Brighte has secured up to $40 million from the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) under the Federal Government’s Household Energy Upgrades Fund™ (HEUF), that will support the roll out of up to $150m of consumer energy resources (CER) across Australia. This reinforces Brighte’s role as a key enabler of Australia’s household electrification transition.
The finance will enable Brighte to offer discounted green loans to eligible Australian households for a wide range of energy upgrades—including solar and battery systems, energy-efficient heating and cooling, and EV chargers. These upgrades will help families reduce energy bills, improve home comfort, and contribute to Australia’s net zero goals.
Katherine McConnell, Founder and CEO of Brighte said: “This is a defining milestone for Brighte. With CEFC support under the HEUF, we’re helping more Australian families cut their energy bills, improve comfort, and play a central role in shaping Australia’s clean energy future."
"Our vendor partners are at the frontline of Australia’s energy transition. With CEFC backing under the HEUF, Brighte can give them the certainty and support they need to grow their businesses, reach more customers, and deliver the clean energy solutions that households are demanding.”
Brighte’s new discounted green loan product will offer an introductory promotional rate of 6.99%, with terms ranging from 2 to 10 years. Loans will be available for amounts between $2,000 and $55,000, with fortnightly repayments and flexible options including lump sum payments.
With the country’s largest network of third-party retailers and a purpose-built finance and CER platform, Brighte is uniquely positioned to turn household energy policy into reality—connecting government ambition with on-the ground delivery.
CEFC Head of Consumer Finance, Grace Tam said:
“We are pleased to work with Brighte in supporting the continued rollout of the HEUF program. Brighte’s extensive reach and expertise in delivering home energy finance solutions put them in a strong position to help more Australian households access energy upgrades, which is a valuable step forward in Australia’s energy transition.”
Brighte has already played a pivotal role in delivering household energy programs across Australia—from supporting the ACT and Tasmanian governments in achieving their net zero goals, to partnering with Commonwealth Bank to deliver CEFC-backed household energy loans.
Momentum is accelerating, with more than 100,000 home batteries installed nationally in just the first four months of the Federal Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program. Brighte’s ability to align with and amplify this surge shows its role as a critical bridge - turning national energy goals into real outcomes for households and communities across Australia.
To date, Brighte has provided more than $2 billion in sustainable finance to support over 200,000 Australian households, helping to unlock an estimated $600 million in bill savings. The new CEFC-backed green loan will further scale this impact, deepening Brighte’s role in Australia’s energy future.
The CEFC powered Brighte discounted green loan is expected to launch in November 2025, with applications opening to eligible households.
