Brighte, Australia's leading platform for consumer energy resources (CER), today announced the appointment of ex-Woolies CEO Brad Banducci as Non-Executive Director. Mr Banducci brings extensive experience in scaling consumer businesses and managing complex supply chains, which will be invaluable as Brighte enters its next phase of growth.
His appointment comes at a pivotal moment in Australia's energy transition, with household adoption of solar, batteries, and electric vehicles reaching record levels.
“Brad's decision to join us reflects both the scale of our ambition and our strong momentum we are building in reshaping how Australians access, finance, and manage their energy resources,” said Katherine McConnell, Founder and CEO of Brighte. "His experience in orchestrating complex supply chains and deep understanding of financial technology are directly relevant to our vision of building Australia's leading integrated CER platform."
Mr Banducci brings unique expertise spanning both finance and retail transformation. As an early CFO of Tyro Payments, he helped scale one of Australia's most successful fintech platforms. Later, as CEO of Woolworths Group, he led the transformation of Australia's largest retail supply chain, building digital capabilities and sustainable practices across a complex national network.
"The transition to consumer energy resources represents a once-in-a-generation shift in how Australians power their homes and lives," said Brad Banducci. "Brighte's opportunity is to become the platform that brings together all elements of the CER ecosystem - from finance and technology to supply chain and installation. I’m excited to support Katherine and the team as they enter this next phase of growth."
McConnell added, "Brad's experience in building and scaling platforms that connect consumers, suppliers, and financial services is invaluable as we expand our role. His understanding of orchestrating complex networks in a highly regulated environment will help us accelerate our vision of making consumer energy resources accessible and affordable to every Australian household."
The appointment strengthens Brighte's leadership as the company continues to expand its platform capabilities. Brighte has helped over 250,000 Australian households access sustainable solutions, with more than $2 billion in finance facilitated for solar, batteries, and other home improvements. The company has also secured major partnerships with Commonwealth Bank, the ACT Government, and the Tasmanian Government to further expand access to CER with its platform.
