Owned and operated by Ryan Worn, Spray Foam Insulation Tasmania is at the forefront of retrofitting insulation in the cold Tasmanian climate. Ryan, a roofer of over 18 years, recognised the unmet need for quality insulation retrofitting solutions and left his roofing business, which has been operating for over 10 years, in the hands of his well-trained staff to fill this gap about eighteen months ago.
“Insulation changes people’s lives,” asserts Worn, “I don’t want to overstate it, but it does.” “This change is especially significant in Tasmania, known for its cold climate and variable weather ranging from hot summers to cold winters.”
Spray Foam Insulation Tasmania works with the Energy Saver Loan Scheme (ESLS), which offers households access to zero-interest loans of up to $10K. “Over the past 18 months, more than 30 of our customers have utilised the scheme. It’s very helpful, especially for people on a fixed income.”
He adds: “With electricity prices through the roof, there’s been a lot more publicity around energy efficiency and the importance of effective insulation lately. The ESLS has allowed Tasmanians to improve their comfort while lowering their energy bills and carbon emissions, even in harsh economic times.”
Spray Foam Insulation Tasmania works closely with Brighte, which administers the ESLS and supports each customer account. “Insulation installers who wish to use the scheme must be certified by the Energy Efficiency Council, which is great as it means all installations under the scheme will be safe, compliant, and effective, leading to happier consumers and higher savings on energy bills.”
Worn expects the business to attract more customers using the scheme in the future. “The more insulation is promoted under the scheme, the more people will educate themselves on the difference between an insulation installation, and an effective insulation installation and why choosing a certified insulation installer guarantees a safe and effective insulation installation that will last for decades.”
