Green lender Brighte has today announced it has become a partner of debt solutions provider Way Forward to offer tailored and customised hardship services to customers who require it.

Way Forward is a not for profit that offers free support for people to manage and repay their debts, helping them construct a payment plan and negotiating with multiple financial providers on their behalf.

Under the partnership, Brighte will refer relevant customers to Way Forward’s service, assisting them with navigating their individual financial situation.

Brighte Founder and CEO Katherine McConnell said the company is committed to helping customers with their financial sustainability.

“We’re on a mission to make every home sustainable and that has a financial aspect as well.”

“We know some people are struggling with their financial situation, especially in the current climate with rising interest rates and rising bills.”

“Partnering with Way Forward offers them a free, confidential and realistic pathway out of debt to a more sustainable future.”

“Brighte is unique in that our financed products such as solar deliver ongoings savings to your bills that help offset repayments. We also have low levels of hardship with 94% of our revenue coming from our merchants, not our customers. However, we do want to ensure that this vital service is available to those who need it.”

Way Forward has a dedicated team of hardship advocates who negotiate on behalf of clients with multiple financial institutions. A payment plan is devised in collaboration with the client which is then passed onto multiple creditors.

Way Forward CEO David Berry said: “Our efforts to work alongside our members to collaboratively support people in hardship has been bolstered with the membership of Brighte.”

"Way Forward continues to work hard to negotiate repayment plans on behalf of those who need it, to ensure we are delivering a pathway to being debt free."

As a charity, Way Forward’s service is free and all repayments made by their clients are put towards reducing debt.
