Your Mission: 🌏
We want to make every home sustainable, and we’re doing that by eliminating the biggest barrier to household renewable energy solutions, the price! Brighte is a fintech company seeking to make the transition to sustainability more affordable through an innovative financing platform.
To reach the ambitious goal of making every home sustainable, we need to continue evolving technically and we want hands-on leaders like you who can create change. In this role, we want you to drive the change so that overtime words like rebuild, transform, legacy, and monolith are no longer used at Brighte. You'll enable our teams to build software that is architecturally consistent and of high quality, establishing best practices for the organisation.
If you want to take on the challenge of creating excellent culture, right across the engineering department, this could be your next step. You’ll be a go to for advice and tasked with directing us forward with best practices and continuous improvement at the front of mind. We think Test Driven Design, Distributed Systems, Eventing Systems and Microservices, have been core pillars to enable rapid delivery from us to customers.
What You Bring: 💭
One of our core values is ‘Deserve the Customer’, so a customer first attitude is paramount for us and as a tech team, we need to embrace that as much as anyone. In the next 2 years we’ll be spending a lot of resources to establish new foundations for the next phase of Brighte’s growth. We’re looking for previous experience as a key member in the decision making process supporting a large shift in architecture.
We’re operating at the unique intersection of renewables and fintech, so any industry experience or general interest in these areas is preferred. Knowledge of the solar industry or lending platforms specifically would be highly favourable. This is the most senior technical position available here at Brighte, so we need someone to come in and be confident in their decision and guide us unwaveringly into our next stage of alignment and efficiency.
Here’s the nitty gritty details on the experience that we feel would be set for success here at Brighte:
- Background in some (the more the merrier) of the following tech;
--- Typescript, React, Node, GraphQL & PHP (we have some legacy PHP actively been replaced)
--- AWS where we leverage RDS, ECS, Lambda, SQS, and EventBridge
- Previous experience directing technical strategy and architecture, ideally from transforming legacy architectures to modern cloud solutions
- Knowledge of distributed computing, eventing patterns, separation of concerns, and automated testing
