The role
 
This is your opportunity to fight climate change and contribute to renewable green energy as we disrupt the energy retail market on Brighte’s mission to make every home sustainable.
This role exists within Brighte’s emerging energy retail business to create capabilities that manage energy across tens of thousands of households as we accelerate the shift to electrification and renewables in the Australian home.
 
With strong people leadership, technical background and practical experience you'll encourage and empower engineering creativity and innovative solutions.
You will drive communication of the product roadmap, ensuring a cohesive team understanding of the overall business objectives.
 
We'll support and enable you to foster an environment where teams can deliver high quality software rapidly to the user as well as promoting a strong culture of collaboration and quality feedback.
 
Who you will work with
 
You will be the pivotal communication bridge between the engineering team to the rest of the business driving curiosity and meaningful conversations around energy.
You will work in collaboration with the Product Owner, ensuring critical information is available and understood within the team.

What you will do
You will lead a team of outstanding engineers, providing mentorship and investing in the teams personal and professional development.  
You'll champion Agile methodologies and Lean practices, new technologies and grow a culture of incremental continuous improvement and change. 
We have an environment of honest open communication within the team, across Engineering and beyond to the rest of the business which you will continue to foster.
You will lead hiring of Engineers for your team and be an impactful advocate and promote the importance/value of diversity within Engineering.     
You love a Data Driven approach for transparency on team’s progress and quality ensuring critical work relating to the health and quality of our codebase is discussed and prioritised.
 
What you will bring
 
·  Relevant software engineering experience in Architecture, Software Design and System Design
·  Technical depth, adaptability and an ability to keep up with the rapid changes
·  Strong experience in leading, mentoring and coaching engineers to build productive, high functioning teams
·  Highly experienced with Agile or Lean delivery practices
