Alexander Watson Home Insulation was established in Canberra in 2011 and now employs 65 staff, including office staff, electricians, insulation installers and air conditioning technicians.

The business specialises in a range of insulation, electrical, heating and cooling solutions and has a strong focus on compliance ensuring that all installers are EEC certified with licensed electricians overseeing all installations. Alexander Watson goes above and beyond to protect their installers by having their very own in-house roof safety team that specialises in the installation of roof safety systems for working at heights. This commitment reflects their dedication to both compliance and the well-being of their team.

When the business began 12 years ago, it focussed purely on insulation but has now expanded into electrical solutions and air conditioning.

Over the past year, Alexander Watson has utilised the ACT Sustainable Household Scheme (SHS), responding to customer requests about the program as well as the business promoting the Scheme actively with customers. In this time, more than 124 customers have been put through the SHS, growing the business's demand for solutions as well as other upgrades.

Alexander Watson Home Insulation’s Office and sales manager, Zara Pearson says that it has had a positive impact on the business.

“Local industry has also benefited as it supports their growth and sustainability and helps create local demand.”

Brighte is the exclusive program administrator of the ACT Sustainable Household Scheme, making it easier for customers to afford and access sustainability solutions, whilst also giving Governments the confidence that their schemes will be delivered with accountability and work with accredited vendors.

“Working with Brighte is a breeze,” said Zara. “The Brighte portal is easy and user-friendly and the external website has a lot of information on it. Customer service is prompt and fast.”

Zara says given the business is fast-paced and growing, working with effective partners is important.

“Working with Brighte provides operational efficiency and responsive customer service but it is also making sustainability significantly more affordable for our clients.”

She adds: “Brighte is making solutions cost-effective and accessible which is aligned to our mission.”
